Fall 2026 Arrival Information

We hope you are enjoying your summer! As we prepare for the start of the Fall 2026 semester, we would like to share important information regarding campus housing move-in.

To support a positive and well-coordinated arrival experience for all students, returning student move-in will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 29–30, 2026.  You will not be issued a key or permitted to move into campus housing prior to these dates, with the following exceptions:

  • Sponsored early arrivals.  If you have been asked to come back prior to August 29th because you are being formally sponsored for an early arrival by a Marist department or program, that department will be submitting your name on a roster to Residence Life. Move-in instructions will be provided to you around the first of August from the Residence Life office. Examples of sponsored early arrivals include, but are not limited to: Fall student-athletes Students working or volunteering in critical campus offices Resident Assistants, Peer Mentors, and other student leaders Sophomores returning from their first-year study abroad experience Band members

If you are unclear about whether you are being sponsored by a campus department as an early arrival, please check in with your supervisor or contact person.  Most people in this category already know who they are since they have already been selected or established in this group.

  • Early arrival exception requests.  If you are not sponsored through a department per the above guidelines, but you would like to request permission to arrive on August 24th, 25th, 26th, or 28th, you can request that through the Residence Life Housing Portal.  Good reasons for us to approve an exception to allow you to arrive early include: availability of international flights or travel from a far distance, siblings who are arriving early due to sponsorship and you need to arrive then too, or a major life event that prohibits your family from dropping you off on move-in weekend. Requests for exceptions to move back to campus prior to August 24th without campus sponsorship cannot be granted.
